The New York City Ballet's production of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker is coming to the big screens at Criterion Cinemas in Saratoga and Movieland 6 in Schenectady Dec. 2, 3, and 5.
The film screening is part of a nationwide tour presented by Screenvision Media, which is bringing the holiday classic to over 100 movie theaters.
In the New York City Ballet rendition, Tchaikovsky melodies, mischievous mice and an enchanted Land of Sweets coalesce, bolstered by 150 ornate costumes and unique visual effects. The production will also feature an on-stage 40-foot Christmas tree and an on-stage children's dance performance.
