'Saratoga Week' in South Florida- A Smashing Success!!

Only Michael Panza could stir up this much glitz, glamour & FUN in south Florida, where last week's 'Saratoga Week' was an unparalleled success!  If you haven't caught Michael's act yet, do yourself a favor & go see perform, he is at his absolute finest with the Charles Cornell Trio-  Charles on Piano, Steve Kirsty on Bass and Matt Niedbalski on drums & Panza's sublime vocals mixed with Cornells Ny Jazz style are perfection! So here's what you missed in Florida last week...

Starting Monday night, Dave Townsend, General Manager of Casablanca Cafe opened his restaurant for the opening night celebration to a packed house with over 50 of the guests  from the capital region alone. Music was provided by Michael Panza and the Charles Cornell Trio with the Jockey’s ,101.3, Walt Adam’s was the host. Some of Monday’s  guests included, Neil and Nadine Cramer, restaurant royalty , Brenda Lee and daughter-in-law Mary Alice Lee from the Wishing Well Restaurant,

Schenectady NY native Delia Lancaster, who drove in from Cocoa Beach, Fine Affairs co-owner Geriann and her husband Jerry Eddy, Brenda and Ira Adler of Saratoga Springs, Leanne Costantino of Clifton Park, Christina Fitzgerald  of Saratoga Springs and Schenectady native, Jazz Vocalist Colleen Pratt who also performed..

Some New Florida friends and Saratoga fans Included  musician Jon Curtis Rose  (currently on tour with Beautiful the musical), Atlantic Hotels Jordon Goss, W Hotels Luke Jordon with his Fiancé Evelyn Thacker, Multi Talented Singer Kelly Byrne and from the Fort Lauderdale Hilton Vicki Brandt.

Tuesday nights celebration held at Casa Calabria at the Ocean Manor Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Over 150 Guests attended.

The night's festivities were emceed by Walt Adams from Saratoga’s own Jockey Radio Station, 101.3. Some of the guests in attendance included

Restaurant owner Bob McKenna and his wife Cathy  (Owners of Lakeridge and the Station Restaurants)  Cheryl Camardo, Russ and Deb McCloskey  of Schenectady NY(who spend half time in Florida) Greg Grande, Former Mayor Scott Johnson and his wife Julie, along with there friend Jack came from South Beach. Mayor Johnson Welcomed the crowd.

 Brett and Belinda Kucharski of Northeast Landscaping joined the party along with Jerry Huffman of Saratoga and Fort Lauderdale, Realtor Jeff Brown and Susan Mackey with daughter Erin. Former capital district natives Charle and Deb Wilkinson also drove in from Palm Beach to attend!

George Mohring and his sister Monica, regular visitors to Saratoga flew in to attend all the shows! Sal and Giovanni Fasio, Both regular  performers at Casa Calabria as well as Siros in Saratoga .

John Lucarelli attended, as well as Michael’s friend, Fort Lauderdale native, Beth Cohen -  Beth, who has been touring with major celebs  including Barry Gibb  and is  now touring with Classic rock band BOSTON .

Roosevelt Baker of Saratoga brought the house down with his rendition of Al green’s Lets stay together, he can be seen on a semi regular basis at Saratoga’s Crown grill. Great Saratoga themed door prizes were given away including dining at some Saratoga Landmark restaurants . Tourism bureau head Todd Garfano provided a Box at the Saratoga Racetrack as an amazing Grand prize.

Wednesday Night Christina  Fitzgerald hosted a private cocktail reception at her Naples residence. The evening was magical, with Colleen Pratt along with Michael Panza and the Charles Cornell Trio providing the entertainment .

Guests included Maureen Lewi, Seattle slew owner Sally Hill, Kevin Johnson and his fiancé Karen Frank Paulo, Theresa and Paul Fink, Double H Board Member Charlie Crew and Rosemary Lyons

The finale was held in Bocca Raton at famed restaurant Aurturo’s. Gino Demarco graciously turned the stage over to Panza and Cornell. A sold out house of 150 guests who enjoyed amazing food, music and dancing, a perfect end to a TRIBUTE week to the great city of Saratoga !

For those of you up north experiencing a little FOMO right now... not to worry, Garfano and Panza are putting a committee together to make this an annual event!!
