Holiday Campaign to Aid Hurricane Victims

Saratoga nonprofit launches 'Operation: A Caribbean Christmas' Campaign to help people who are recovering from Hurricane Maria.

The Giving Circle, a volunteer nonprofit organization in Saratoga Springs, has launched Operation: A Caribbean Christmas Campaign to help people who are recovering from Hurricane Maria.

In Puerto Rico, the organization has partnered with puertoricrecoveryfund.com; in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the organization has partnered with My Brother’s Workshop, which is based in St. Thomas.

“There are countless thousands of children and families in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands who have very little chance of having a Christmas after losing everything,” says Mark Bertrand, founder and executive director of The Giving Circle. “We cannot let that happen.”

In Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, Giving Circle will be helping to fund a large holiday party with all the trimmings. Gift cards will be given to families at this party.

To participate in Operation: A Caribbean Christmas Campaign, go to thegivingcircle.org. You can also donate VISA gift cards, $25 to $50, which will be given directly to families in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mail cards to The Giving Circle, P.O., Box 3162, Saratoga Springs, 12866.
