On Aug. 4, Cirque de la Symphonie brings its troupe of acrobats, contortionists, jugglers and strongmen to the stage to perform while the orchestra plays classical masterpieces.

The jaw-dropping show, part of this season’s “Philadelphia for Families” series, includes many former Olympic champions and is performed exclusively with orchestras.

Film night is part of the same “Families” series. In the last few years, the audience has watched a film while the orchestra plays the score. This summer, there will be two films: “E.T. The Extra Terrestrial” at 8 p.m. on August 5 and “Raiders of the Lost Ark” at 8 p.m. on August 12. The Grammy Award-winning composer John Williams composed both scores. S
